I swear this is the 20th “My fiancé decided to dump me and made me out like a villain just to make it work, and everyone are idiots and believe it.” I have seen now in just the last two or three years. Yes, the first one was popular and made everyone involved some money. But surely you can come up with a different plot at some point, Japan?

Once a story becomes extremely popular, there’ll be countless clones. Sometimes enough to spawn a whole new genre, like Isekai.

Author’s have plenty of stories they’ve written that have remained most precious to them for years but Corporations are the one’s who fund such expensive ass productions as say, this anime. Authors have plenty of other kinds of stories ALL OVER THE WORLD, but production companies ALL OVER THE WORLD will only buy what they feel is safe enough to not lose everything they’ve invested, which %99 of the time means “a story just like other stories that have succeeded in the past”.
