On the one hand, this episode showed a well thought out magic system including a good explanation for why support magic has a time duration. I really liked that, and was vibing to the episode when the anime revealed its flaw to me…
On the other hand is its flaw… this is YET ANOTHER of a LONG line of recent anime that all share the plot point of “OH NO! BOO HOO! I am super strong but I was kicked out of my old party because they think I am weak!” which has been -so- over done lately.
it is definitely becoming an unwelcome norm.. many of these “OH NO! BOO HOO! I’ve read the Manga this is adapted from, he does take that role on with Sophia’s team, but he doesn’t let his swordsman skills get wasted, especially when his former party makes a huge screw-up…
