The only advantage of turning red apple into green is; that it will be less appealing to eat, by humans and animals, insect too. Quite contrast when red apples often have more sugar, resulting to be more desirable and quicker to spoil.
But, if the spell also reduce the sugar level, then its a rejuvenation spell, actually reversing the apple age. The application is dreadful.
Or it could be a spell that reduces the sugar level, which just so happens to change the color of the apple. Idk whether that’s causal though. You’d have to imagine taking the sugar out of an apple, and they don’t have the chemistry knowledge to be able to imagine what sugar looks like, so I doubt that would be the case
