Ofc. Maomao ate the snakes, but dang, she really did the hero thing and took the blame. Good thing Shisui advised the Taibon over the water.

I loved how Kyou-u and Shisui were going “Oh no not the Taibon! What a horrible torture!”
And then Maomao is just excited to play with the snakes and is going “LUNCH!” xD

Shisui knew Maomao would be fine with it, which is why she recommended it.

Not Loulan, the original Shisui. The one who took the resurrection drug.

That was surprising! Shisui was poisoning them better than telling them to flee as best they could to some sort of safety. Couldn’t you have lied to them, saying that their families would meet up with them soon after?

I get why she would poison the kids, because such younglings would be unable to flee far enough fast enough in the snow. Fully grown strong adults had a chance, but not young children they would have either frozen or been killed by the Army. And neither of those are pleasant deaths, slipping off to an eternal sleep should be far less painful.
