While he is not wrong that shoes could do that height change… there is a second point of breakdown in the detective’s logic… one witness said 170 another said 150… but both witnesses were wearing a costume that hid their actual identity when giving their witness statements and were never shown on screen being asked to reveal themselves. Ignoring simple things such as witness mistakes in identification that routinely happen… it also could have been one of the suspects inside either costume making those measurements less than perfect.
Seriously, the way Kageyama figures out these cases gives a whole new meaning to “The Butler Did It.” I’m invested in how this high-rent Encyclopedia Brown is figuring out these cases…
