So this is set in 1952 Japan if I am getting my timing right? The Showa era started in 1926 and the anime said 26 years into it so that would be the timing, but I feel there is a problem with that timeline. No offense meant, but the female characters seem to be from 1990s Japan rather than 1950s in terms of personality. They are way too open and, well, aggressive for the societal norms of that time.
